I know that I got off of my schedule these past few days, but we had the Bridal Fair and such so I will catch back up on my blogging in the next few days. I hope everyone had a beautiful day. My day was full of kids, a nap, running errands, doing a little laundry and then shooting some of our great friends’ IN LOVE session!!!! I will leave you with one picture….

So I didn’t get to post this yesterday. I thought about it all day, but just didn’t get a chance to hop on here and post it…. sorry.

TIP OF THE DAY: Laughter really is the best medicine.

You are probably thinking, “That is not a photography tip.” BUT it is….in my book anyway. Let’s face it, everyone is not naturally comfortable with a camera in their face. For that very reason is why I value getting very close and comfy with my clients! I wanna be able to cut up and get some real smiles and emotion. JOY. Happiness. It’s all in there, but you as a photographer have to figure out how to get it to come out! Laughter helps everything. Try it out. In work, at home, in life. Much Love, Darla

Bringing More Order To My Life

You know, it’s really hard to create structure and stick with it when you are the one who is in control of keeping the structure. I don’t have a boss. I am the boss of my business and when it comes to having a set schedule in my day… it just doesn’t really exist. I’m about to change that b/c it is literally driving me crazy. I need QUIET TIME!!!!, EDITING time, EMAIL time, LUNCH time, WORKOUT time, KIDS time, HUSBAND time, CLIENT CARE time, BLOG time and without a set slot of time for each of these things, WORK consumes my life completely and I am not a pleasant person to be around at home Simply because I am always feeling BEHIND! So… today, I decided I’d start a new life of ORDER in EVERY aspect. Not just orderly house but orderly mind, schedule, desk etc.

*We all straightened up this morning as I really like to do daily b/c messy house=crazy ME so that is necessary

*I did all of my biz related “office work” like paperwork stuff and such as well as emails in my first work slot.

*Then had lunch. After lunch, me and Judah (in stroller) went for a long walk. I tried to run with the stroller but that wasn’t happening. Having to lean forward a bit to push the stroller put MAJOR pressure on my knees and didn’t feel too good, so instead of my walk/run for 30 minutes… we just stayed out and walked for almost an hour. Very nice.

*Next work slot, a few more emails and hashed out some bridal fair details.

*I am currently trying to get Judah to take a nap so I can jump into some editing!

It has been a great day! My new plan also incorporates BLOGGING more. I truly want to stay connected with my clients. Those of you who have gotten to know us more already should realize how important it is for us to get to know you and it really is a priority. We don’t wanna just WORK for you, we wanna befriend you as well. So from now on THE BLOG is going to look like this:

MONDAYS are going to be ABOUT US (personal, family, etc.).

TUESDAYS will be PHOTO TIP of the day

WEDNESDAYS will be CURRENT WORK (wedding, in love, whatever)

THURSDAYS will be NEW THINGS HAPPENING AROUND HERE (interns, unwrapped workshops, etc)

FRIDAYS will be more CURRENT WORK

SATURDAYS will be our FAVORITE of the WEEK (vendor, workout, food, anything)

I really hope you enjoy getting to know us better because we really wanna know you guys.

Josh + Elise: WEDDING DAY

Whew, it’s been a while since I have blogged! Wow, we have had VERGE summer camp and then our little Destin wedding/mini vacation. I feel like I am SO behind right now, even though I’m really not. I am excited that in the next week I am about to start designing albums like crazy from the busy wedding season!!!

This is the largest blog post ever by the way. Josh & Elise’s wedding was super fun. We seldom get to shoot a wedding where almost everyone there we are friends with I LOVE IT! It was so fun and the photos turned out great. I really felt we were able to capture the emotion of the day and believe me, it was FULL of emotion. It felt so good.

Josh, Elise, thank you so much for letting us shoot for you guys. It was truly an honor! We love you guys so much.

Becca + David: IN LOVE

You guys are so sweet. I am so excited about the wedding. (and not just because it’s at the beach) haha. It will be a day oozing of love and amazing people. I can’t wait to capture every moment! You two are so sweet together.

Here is a small peek at Chris Anne and Heath’s BIG DAY! Chris Anne is a classic beauty: dark hair, red lips, gorgeous. The day was full of love & emotion and I loved every minute of it. It makes me so giddy as I’m looking back through the images and just feeling good. Some make me laugh, some make me remember the tearful moments, but it all feels good. I am so lucky to be able to share all of this with you guys!

I love the RoundHouse. Probably my absolute favorite venue. I would pick it if we got married again! I absolutely LOVE how the light pours into the windows and backlights them dancing. I love this kind of lighting. I probably use it too much, but it makes me happy inside

I usually don’t post this many of the Father/Daughter dance, but they just made me wanna hug my dad. They all oozed of emotion, so I had to share them.

Yummy.

You guys… we loved being with you. I look forward to spending more time with you

Hey Friends…

Whew! It has been a great summer so far. I am so happy to be enjoying the sun and spending time with friends! I am extra super excited because it is just 10 days left until we leave for VERGE summer camp. One of our most favorite times of the year. We get to take a bazillion kids to the beach for tons of fun, sun and rockin’ services with awesome speakers! So exciting.

Also, we are having our very first UNWRAPPED group workshop on Saturday and I am super excited! It is going to be so much fun.
If you know anyone who is interested in coming, there are still spots available! So, let me know.
