What a fabulous day with Betsy and Todd… Despite the gnats that wouldn’t stop attacking us, we had a great time shooting today. We went very natural today: grass and trees. Betsy was so inspiring with her natural, creamy wardrobe and her fair skin and gorgeous blonde hair. I could’ve shot her all day :) I hope you know how beautiful you are!!! So of course, I couldn’t pick just a few to show you. Here are 11. Enjoy!
Brooke + Darren: We have LOVED getting to know you and felt so blessed to get to enjoy your wedding day with you. I hope you love every photo! We look forward to keeping in touch and shooting for you again in the future! Love, love, love you guys!
Brooke absolutely adores her nieces and I had a ton of pix her loving on them. So sweet.
It was a beautiful day and I was so excited to shoot Josh, Brianna and the kids today! I was super excited to see their newest little one, Graham. He is so sweet and I really had trouble not posting about 20 photos of him on here. Haha. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this glance at our day. :)
I got to take some pix in the freezing cold with Adam + Andy this weekend. Great friends that we don’t see enough of!!! We started off with a few lovey dovey couple shots and then ended off with me and my ideas for Adam some new shots for his music stuff. Adam is an incredible singer/songwriter! Check him out on Facebook: adamsullivanmusic or on Twitter @theadamsullivan.
I’ve been wanting to blog this session for quite a while now. I finally shot Brooke and Darren’s wedding this past Saturday so now I can post her bridal sesh! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! I hope you guys enjoy them. :)
Some things that I want ALL brides-to-be to know….
1. It doesn’t matter what all the perfect planning books or wedding etiquette says, your wedding can reflect exactly who you are no matter what. So if you want hotdogs and hamburgers at a super cool rustic backyard shindig… DO IT! That goes for any other idea you are contemplating, but keep wondering what others may think! You and your guy are the only opinions that should matter when it comes to designing your perfect wedding.
2. Work it in your budget for a make up artist. You will be surprised how much it makes you glow in photos. It brings a little boost of confidence that shines from the inside out too.
3. Make sure you have found your “perfect match” in a photographer. It’s not just their work you need to look at, you are more importantly seeing how your personalities mesh. You spend ALOT of time with your photographer and on the wedding day, they are with you at every moment so you need to feel totally comfortable! They should feel like a BFF by the wedding day so that their presence makes you feel at ease, not add more stress.
4. Take into consideration whether venues offer a clean up service or if you should hire one. If you can afford it, that would alleviate your family having to spend all night stacking chairs, etc. and cleaning up after you are gone. Trust me, I have the type of family that wants to do it all, but if you can talk them out of it, DO IT just because you love them!
That’s all for now :) Just wanted to share! Love, Darla

We never get family photos. That is on my resolution list: to have a real family photo shoot. While I was shooting my whole family photo, my sis-in-law snapped this one of us :)

POST Session Awesomeness!!!
So, for the first blog in a LONG time, I am going to start with Meagan and Tyler. The day was full of laughter and fun and OH SO MUCH love. I loved getting to be with all of Meg and Tyler’s friends and family. We were adopted in immediately :) I hope you enjoy this glimpse of their gorgeous day.
Venue: Burritt on the Mountain
Make Up Artist: Stacey Spearman (Wedding) & Nancy Finnegan (INLOVE & Post Session)
Here are a couple of shots from their IN LOVE Sesh:
The Wedding Day began and Meg’s mom and dad’s house where there was so many places to take beautiful detail shots!
LOVE these ring shots!!!
I loved this SISTER moment.
We did a POST session since Meagan and Tyler decided not to have a FIRST LOOK on their wedding day! Post sessions allow us to shoot an entire session of couple shots in your wedding threads. So fun. And not to mention, completely stress FREE!
These guys drove a long way to hang out with us for a photoshoot so we planned a day of props to play with in a location that I’ve never shot at before. It was a good day. Brooke, Darren: We loved getting to finally meet you. I can’t wait to come to you next time! We really look forward to getting to know you guys better AND sorry Daniel smacked you in the face with leaves! LOL.
Love, Darla & Daniel
